10 tech companies in the Bay Area that offer amazing perks for its employees

Employees of the tech companies in Silicon Valley can have some of the most extravagant perks you can think. It can vary having free stays at the luxurious listings on AirBnb to taking $10,000 of furniture allowance for customizing their workspaces.

Silicon Valley employees work in some of the most luxurious offices as the tech companies compete for attracting and retaining the top talent. Free meals and catered dining became a minimum perk of almost every tech company in the Valley.

1. Facebook

One of the reviews left on Glassdoor by an employee of Facebook says that you don’t have to worry about anything if you are working for Facebook. The company has any perk available for you that comes to your mind. On-site healthcare, $4000 in “baby cash” for new employees, 4 months of maternity and paternity leave and internal professional development classes.

2. Apple

Nothing beats a 25% employee discount on all Apple products. Employees also get a discount on company stocks. Other perks are free concerts, wellness centers with chiropractors and dietitians, tuition assistance, donation matching and access to medical professionals.

3. Netflix

If you are planning to become a parent, you’d want to be working for Netflix. Because Netflix has the best perks for new parents where you get one year of paid maternity and paternity leave. It was one of the first companies to implement ‘flexible vacation’ where employees can choose themselves when they want to take vacation and for how long, as long as it doesn’t negatively affect their job performance.

4. Salesforce

Salesforce encourages its employees on giving back and it provides good incentives for that. Employees get seven paid volunteer days and they get to spend $1000 on philanthropic purposes of their choices. Besides that, the company also makes sure that employees are having fun every once in a while by taking the team on trips to Hawaii.

5. Asana

This Silicon Valley startup goes the extra mile providing perks to its employees. From organic home-cooked meals twice a day, pet-friendly on-site yoga classes, Uber perks, to customized workstation is all you can take advantage of. Their most unique perk is that they allow you to upgrade your workspace to whatever furnishing you desire and they will give you a budget of $10,000 for that.

6. Twitter

You can eat your breakfast, lunch, and dinner, have unlimited time off as long as it has strong reasons for that, on-site acupuncture, meditation classes, rooftop deck and coffee/beer/wine bar and many more.

7. Genentech

This biotech company provides on-site car wash, dental services, spa treatments, haircuts among other perks. You don’t need to go to other places to run your errands as your workplace provides everything you need for free.

8. Tesla

You can borrow a car from your employer to commute on weekdays to and from work. Also, you can keep the car for the weekends. Working at Tesla, you don’t have the necessity to buy, lease or finance your own car. All you have to do is just ask your employer to borrow you one and you are good to go.

9. Evernote

Employees get an unlimited number of vacation days and free cleaning of their houses twice a month.

10. Adobe

Perks of adobe are nothing of unordinary if you look at them individually. What makes it impressive is that the amount of these perks that they have. They offer adoption assistance services, sabbatical options after five days, gym reimbursement, tuition assistance, job training, remote work, legal assistance and many more. Its maternity leave was increased to 26 weeks of paid leave in 2015 which is considered on the best parent packages out there.

Competition is big to get into these companies. But it’s worth working hard for them not only for the salaries and prestige but also for these amazing perks that they offer.
