If you have the passion and the drive to earn extra money on the side, you can find many ways to do it. Living in San Francisco is very expensive and having an side hustle can help you with the bills or save some for the future.

Whatever schedule you might have currently, you can make side income. It’s just a matter of finding what might work best for your situation. Here are some of the ideas you can earn cash on a side in San Francisco.

1. Rent out your car

If you have a reliable vehicle that’s just parked on your driveway and you don’t use it every day, you can make money out of it. Lots of people in the Bay Area prefer not to use their cars during the weekdays as they find alternative transportation options more convenient. So they mostly keep their cars for the weekends. If you are among these type of people, it would perfect sense to rent it out on the days you don’t use the car. There are multiple apps out there that lets you register and rent your car out. These surveys are typically for big brands that are looking to do some research for their new or existing products and services.

3. Get paid for the searching Internet.

There are companies like Swagbucks that pay and reward people for watching online videos, taking surveys and just using their search engine. For each search, you can gain 5–10 points and when you reach 500 points mark, you can cash out. Another similar platform is InboxDollars, which offers bonuses for searching web and shopping online.

4. Sell on Amazon.

If you have old souvenirs, old paper money, coins, books or even CDs, it’s very easy to sell them on Amazon. If you can teach something, you can teach something online at Udemy. There are courses for literally anything you can think of. You are able to create your personal pricing and start making money.
