A View of a View

A
view,
of crass
houses full
of cracks belonging
to the idealists now in jail.
I enter and pour myself a cup of tea and crash
on the coffee-stained vintage couch that somehow resembles my kindergarten teacher.

Damn,
Oh?
Maybe
I must go.
Lights are on outside.
I know they will take me to jail
if I don’t put up a fight. I down my tea and bounce,
jumping out the back window, crashing into a dead fire pit, into dystopia,

where
my
dreams are
chased by the
never-ending code
of consumerism growth without
the choice to say no and go somewhere free but nothing
is free anymore so I’ll try to sneak back into another house if not the last.
