In the Vein

A Poem

This isn’t blood
it’s an insect who reforms
and takes its tiny
infinite legs from my head
the moment someone
opens the door

There isn’t a line in
the world that doesn’t belong
in the vein
whatever truth you imagine
you’re privy too
