Mahakumbh is the largest spiritual gathering connected to the roots of Sanatan Dharma. There are primarily three major Kumbh events.
- Ardh Kumbh Mela is held every 6 years
- Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years
- Mahakumbh Mela held every 144 years

2025 is a special year for all those who follow the ancient Vedic philosophy of Sanatan Dharma. According to the world’s most ancient way of life, this current year holds great significance from an astronomical perspective.
After 144 years, the four cosmic bodies, the Sun, Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn, will align straight with each other, making a taillike structure resembling the process of Samudra Manthan (cosmic ocean churning).
It will be the most optimistic time in our personal timeline because an average person if he is lucky, can witness only one Mahakumbh Mela in a lifetime. Witnessing this Mahakumbh Mela would be a lifetime opportunity to experience the energy transmutation within. The most important point is that the last Mahakumbh event occurred 144 years ago and will occur again in 2025.
This year the Mahakumbh Mela will commence on January 13, 2025, in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The event will continue up to February 26, 2025. After that, these celestial bodies with additional planets will change their position.
