New Features — May 2017
In the month of May, the BedKin team shipped over twelve new versions of our iPhone, Android and Web apps with bug fixes and new features including:
Gift a Home Cleaning
Guests can quickly and easily gift a Home Cleaning to a host with just a one click, directly in the check-out flow after visiting a home.
Many of our hosts ask their friends to pay for a cleaner in return for the free stay at their home. BedKin now makes it easy to collect this cleaning fee directly from guests.
Credit Card Payments
We added a new section on the “You” tab for credit cards. You can now save a credit card directly to this section for making cleaning payments to friends.
Improved Chat Design
Chat design is now improved across both iPhone and Android to save space and increase readability.
We added clear headers to separate message history between days. Also, multiple messages from the same user are now grouped together with one time stamp. Photo messages now extend across the entire view.
Finally, we added in-line buttons for check-in, check-out, date confirmation and more. Key guest and host actions now show up directly in the chat flow.
Deep Linking
We enabled deep linking on iPhone. Now when opening a chat link received via text message in Safari, the chat conversation will automatically open in the BedKin app if it is downloaded.
Improved Web App Interface
Users can now request to visit a home directly from the Web App. Additionally, we’ve updated check-in and check-out chat messages and improved spacing on the chat interface.
Hi-Res Stock Photos
We added set of gorgeous, high-resolution photos of top US cities and states.
If a user has not added custom photos for their home, previously we showed a default BedKin background image.
Now, if a custom home image has not yet been added, we auto-fill a high-resolution image corresponding to the city or state the home is listed in.
