Black Panther its more than a science fiction. It’s African Renaissance.

While the long awaited science-fiction film came out earlier this week. It is safe to take a different approach while we analyze the impact it is having on both the African-American community as well as in Hollywood.

While some prefer to categorize it as a “movie just like any other”, that does not express enough our enthusiasm.

For far too long, Hollywood has been known for casting white people as the main characters in movie roles. Perhaps is it a business move or simply a little bit of racism that still lingers in the background.

While watching the latest movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we enjoyed every little bit of it. Never before have we seen so many people of colors in a movie do this good in America. The art, the music, the geography, the architecture… they speak culture and we see a history in the making.

Not often do we enjoy a movie. We live theaters wondering about what the actor did or the motivation behind the villain etc… Black Panther overcame this. Actor, Chadwick Boseman embraces his roles as protector of Wakanda with such purity.

The debacle and the fight for the crown is once again something we are very familiar with. Far too many countries in the real-world have been through it. It’s awesome!

If this is not enough for Hollywood to re-consider its position, I do not know what will. Biggest superhero movie in the Box Office to this day. A fantastic cast full of actors of color, from director to bottom.

Let’s see what the future has in store for us.
