Happy Monday! Let’s check in on our weekend spending.

Last week, I estimated that I would spend $5.75 on laundry and $70 on groceries, thanks to my Safeway deals app knowing that I was almost out of a 100-pack of coffee filters SOMEHOW:

(I mean, it’s pretty easy to guess how they figured out I was almost out of coffee filters. They probably have lots of data on the average time between purchases, and assumed I was somewhere near the average.)

I ended up spending $5.75 on laundry and $81.04 on groceries. BUT! I saved $36.25, and at this point I have enough bread and beans and peanut butter and oatmeal and granola bars and everything else that the only food I will need to replenish, right up until the very last week of August, will be fresh fruits/vegetables and yogurt.

SO TAKE THAT, GROCERY APP.

I also spent $5.60 on Alaska Airlines buying a flight with miles—which I wasn’t planning on buying this weekend but then I realized I could use the miles and not actually have to pay for it—and I was so jazzed about the whole thing that I went ahead and applied for the Alaska Airlines Visa Signature Card so I could get the 30,000 mile bonus over the next three months and use the miles on whatever expensive holiday flights I end up booking this winter. (They gave me a $15,000 line of credit, which seems a little ridiculous.)

Total spending: $92.39.

How about you?
