Interview with Carboneum Founder— January 2019
On January 17, 2019, I had the chance to attend Unblock Bangkok, where I got to speak with Max Kortrakul from Carboneum, a social trading platform.
Transcript:
My name is Max from Carboneum. What we do is basically social trading platform for the cryptocurrencies. So people can just get inside and see whether what other people are trading and basically they can just start to copy and enjoy the profit from someone who lead them. But of course investment come with risk so if someone lead you to lost your money, then it means that all the transactions will all lost too. So it’s always the both sides.
What will Carboneum do that makes it different from other competitors such as eToro?
First of all what we do, actually we experienced in the stock market before. We do the platform called StockRadars. So what we try to do is try to make it as simple as we can.
To compare with eToro, definitely, they are the biggest guy in town and also very centralized system. So what our business model is try to make it very lean to followers, leaders, to try and bring all those value together. So basically when all the people want to make a transaction, that’s going to be a lot more simple and a lot more lean in terms of business model itself. We don’t have elite model, we don’t have a VIP model. We just make it straightforward on all transactions. If someone makes money, then they just get revenue sharing right away.
Since your ICO back in June, that finished in June, the price of Ethereum and the price of your Carboneum token has decreased rapidly. Has that affected your plans in any way and how have you dealt with the bear market in the past year?
For sure, it needs to impact to the project. Luckily that we are in Thailand, so we can change the plan and try to make use of the money wisely.
One thing that effect the most is what we worry about, the investor. The new investor that’s gonna come into the crypto world. That one effect a lot for the newbies for someone who’s gonna use the platform. Luckily we are still developing the platform. Right now we got an app to download, but not the trading part yet. In this quarter we’re gonna have the app for trading. So hopefully the market is recover.
On the other side, maybe it’s good to make it more back to focus on fundamental of the project itself. So anything that happen will be…basically educate people who invest in the crypto market. And what we try to do is try to stay focused and keep shipping what we already put on the road map and try to push it into the market.
So what’s the next thing we can expect from Carboneum and when can we expect it?
In first quarter this year.
Right now we’re still confident that we’re gonna deliver Carboneum into the market to let people able to use Carboneum to copy others and make a transaction possible.
