Golf Is Hard
And doesn’t care if you are having a bad day.
If you have been following me for a while, you have probably noticed that on Tuesdays I usually do a “Try the Tip” and feature a drill that I have been working on. You may have also noticed that there was no Tuesday post this week. There was every intent to post the regularly scheduled content, and I even took video as I went through drills yesterday. However, the universe was not on my side on this particular Tuesday, from start to finish. I had a rough day at work, and what should have been my fun time practicing golf turned out to be salt in the wound as I couldn’t chip to save my life.
I will spare the details of not only the rough day, but the rough practice session and emphasize what I actually walked away with this week. Golf is hard, but your attitude is up to you. This is something that took me a while to control when it came to golf; I don’t enjoy working hard and still struggling, but over the last year I have drastically improved on my ability to not let the frustrations of this game defeat me. Golf is a game of patience, of mental fortitude, and sometimes just straight up luck. You can practice and improve, develop better skills and consistency bring your score down, but there will always be days that the game just wins. Do not let those days define you, or dampen your love for the game. Every day you spend on the course, any hours that you spend practicing are times that you are doing something that you enjoy, and if you don’t enjoy it, then find something you do enjoy, and suck up every moment that you get to spend doing it.
Tuesday was hard, and at times not fun. But you will see me here again next week with a new drill and a new tip.
Until next time,
Fore!
Katherine
