Brät Brot is the place to be on fall weekends! Every Friday night at 10pm you can refuel with a Late Night Brunch. Continue the fun on Saturday with college football on the TVs!

Carrigan’s has some amazing weekly specials. Mondays are PBJ night with Pizza + Beer + a shot of Jameson for $10. On Tuesdays they offer $5 Old Fashioneds. Every Wednesday bottles of wine are ½ off and they feature a Chef Special for dinner. Thrifty Thursday offers $4 cans of beer. Fun fact…they have free parking! With two large parking lots, it’s always easy to drop in for lunch or dinner!

Vecchia Pizzeria and Mercato is hosting a French Wine Dinner this Thursday! Join them and take a cultural and historical journey to France through its best wines. Price is $68 per person and includes the wine & cultural class, 4 glasses of wine, a full-course buffet dinner, taxes and gratuity. Register here.

Shiki Thai and Sushi offers ½ off all kitchen appetizers every Monday. As if that wasn’t good enough, happy hour is also from 5–7pm with $5 margaritas, mojitos, and wines by the glass!

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Jimmy Koikos, the beloved restaurateur who has run The Bright Star for almost 60 years. AL.com has a wonderful tribute to one of the true patriarchs of the Birmingham culinary scene. Link

According to Bhamnow.com, the owner of Fig Tree in Cahaba Heights is planning on opening a second restaurant in Mtn. Brook in the next month or so. Watkins Branch Bourbon and Brasserie will have a speakeasy theme with a small, creative menu and gourmet cocktails. We can’t wait to visit! Link

We were blown away when we read about the new Parkside development that is in the works near Railroad Park. It will take 2 or 3 years to complete, but it sounds like the results will continue to transform that area of downtown into an amazing urban community. Very exciting!!
