Nautilus by Ravyne Hawke using NightCafe

Blah days pile up
as seashells upon a beach
leftover remnants
of an active life long gone —
No one gathers my nautilus shells
as beachcombers do
my emptiness holds no value

This poem is in response to Alec Zarenkiewicz’s challenge — choose a subject to write about every day for a year. I’ve chosen ‘Mood.’
