Dedicated to Lord Murugan and one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, this wonderful destination in Malaysia is one of Kuala Lumpur’s most frequented tourist attractions. The 140 ft. tall splendid statue of Lord Murugan at the entrance of the caves is the third tallest statue of a Hindu deity in the world. The limestone cave formations said to be around million years old are perched beautifully on a hill.

The caves house Hindu temples as old as 100 years featuring idols with statues and idols erected inside the caves and around it. Cathedral Cave which is the largest and most popular cavern in Batu Caves houses several Hindu shrines beneath its 100-meter high arched ceiling. At the foot of Batu Hill are two other cave temples, the Art Gallery Cave and Museum Cave which houses numerous Hindu statues and paintings.
