Football Clubs That Have Responded To Coronavirus! Charity Of Clubs During The Lockdown

Where today we’re running through ten clubs that have done amazing work during this current situation. This is not a competition and we won’t be able to cover every club’s work, but there are some great stories here nonetheless. And you must stick to the government’s ruling of social distancing during this difficult time.

West Ham United

While West Ham has often found themselves getting criticized for decisions they’ve made in the past especially by their fan base. The London club has learned a lot of praise for their response to the lockdown which has brought the majority of people’s lives to a standstill in the UK. Captain Mark Noble led the way. Four days before the country went into lockdown he paid tribute to doctors nurses and other key workers in his column. For pledging to donate season earnings from the column to the local known food bank. But also spoke about their need to help the elderly and vulnerable. And the club has worked to support members of any old Aion’s. Group made up of hammers fans over the age of 65 with Declan rice and others reaching out to them over the phone. Then in April the East London Club became the second Premier League outfit to announce their players would be taking pay cuts to subsidize the for wages of non-playing staff.

David Moyes Karen Brady and finance director Andy mullet also revealed they would be taking 30% wage cuts. With owners David golden David Sullivan along with other shareholders injecting an extra thirty million pounds into the club to aid the initiative.

A.S Roma f.c

Roma has touched upon in the previous section the elderly are among the most vulnerable people during this pandemic. And this has been particularly true in Italy one of the worst affected countries and the nation with an especially large elderly population. That’s why Roma have reached out to their older supporter base delivering care packages to all their season ticket holders over the age of 75. The packages contain essentials like pasta, hand sanitizer a,and protective gloves. But also special treats like beer and a copy of beloved paper Gazzetta Dello sport. Roma’s oldest fan 96-year-old early soul on zeti who was born four years before the club was even established also received a sign deadened Jacko shirt.

Meanwhile the club has also teamed together to help local hospitals. Buying free ventilators, eight intensive care beds, and distributing nearly 30,000 surgical masks.
