I think that we as Christians can really testify for our faith through our craft. And if we put Jesus in it, at the same time doing it with excellence, people are going to love it no matter their spiritual beliefs.

Tell us a bit about your life journey and how your relationship with Jesus has come to shape it? I was born and raised in a christian family, so going to church each and every Sunday was an important part of my weekly routine. The problems started when I entered my first teenage years. The ‘churchy’ thing became so boring to me. I started to question everything. I started hanging out with the wrong people and doing the wrong things. Parties, girls, cigarettes — all that “fun”. My parents at that point had no idea. I was acting like one boy at home and completely a different one outside. But nothing of what I was doing was giving me purpose or satisfaction. One day I just sat down and started questioning myself, “What am I doing?”, “Is this all I’m made for?”. So I kneeled down and asked the Lord for forgiveness. I remember, this was at the beginning of the summer. A couple of weeks later I went to a Christian summer camp and had a real encounter with God there. I felt His presence. I felt His love. On that day, I took the decision to never go back to my old lifestyle, and I never have. It’s probably the best decision I have ever made!

When did you first fall in love with the art of visual storytelling? Since I was little I’ve always loved creating stuff and writing stories. But I fell in love with visual storytelling the first time I went out and shot a documentary about a homeless shelter in a small town here in Bulgaria. I enjoyed every bit of the process, from filming it, to editing it.
Your currently busy with a project called the UP TO US PROJECT, do you mind telling us what it’s all about? It’s all about capturing and sharing the stories of the people who are changing the world. We’ve made a video (see it at the end of the interview) that can explain it a whole lot better. We’ve also started a YouTube channel and I’m glad to say that we have subscribers from over 15 countries. I’m so excited for the future of the project!

What legacy do you want to leave behind at the end of your life? I’m living my life with the motto, “I’m not the artist, I’m the canvas” and I really want people to know that I was just an instrument in the hands of God. That He was the One inspiring me.
