What Are You Forgetting?

I don’t like everything Nietzsche said or did, but I do like this quote:

“The most basic form of human stupidity is forgetting what we are trying to accomplish.”

With writing, we can forget the bigger goals and picture. It’s easy to show up, check emails and just do the daily tasks without thinking strategically or purposefully.

Or you’ve put off your art again just to go out for the umpteenth night in a row.

Or you’re watching another episode of something rather than writing.

But then the opposite is true, too. We can be too busy and forget our family and friends. We can forget to help others.

So…what are you doing that’s stupid? What do you need to remember?
