When Things Don’t Go Our Way

Or so it appears.

We want things. Lots of things.

We want that job. We want that house. We want that partner. We want that certain outcome.

But when we don’t get what we want, we say things like…

things didn’t go our way

or…

something went wrong

But I challenge you to stop and take a second to think…

How many times have we not gotten what we wanted, only to find that there was something even better waiting for us than what we had originally wanted for ourselves?

We don’t usually see it in the moment. It’s only in hindsight that we can see the master plan and how providence led us to where we are — a place that’s better than what we had planned.

Knowing this, in the future, when we don’t get our desired outcome, instead of thinking something went wrong, why don’t we think instead that something went right, according to a plan that’s yet to be revealed.
