YDACC Endorses Paul Davis in KS-02

Today, the Young Democrats of America’s College Caucus would like to proudly endorse Paul Davis in his run for the Second Congressional District of Kansas. Mr. Davis, hailing from Lawrence, home to the State of Kansas’ largest University, the University of Kansas, and has repeatedly represented Lawrence in the Kansas State Legislature.

His work as Minority Leader in the Kansas Statehouse often included fighting for the affordability of education for all Kansas students, expanding access to technical education and alternatives, and the commitment to stand against Campus Carry, which makes our campuses a less safe place for students and teachers alike. Mr Davis was also a 2014 Gubernatorial Candidate for Kansas, and proved that Kansas was not as much of a “Red State” as common sentiment usually states. We believe strongly that Mr. Davis both represents our ideals and shares our commitment to representing Students.

The Second District of Kansas is home to a significant of Kansas’ on campus Student Population, having the University of Kansas, Emporia State University, Pittsburg State University, and Washburn University, and many community colleges. Currently the Second District is represented by Rep. Lynn Jenkins (R).
