Rejoice! Bonnaroo Upgrades Plumbing, Installs Real Showers and Toilets
It’s no secret that Bonnaroo is one of our favorite summer festivals here in BGS land. But, with any farmland concert, facilities are limited. Portable johns and showers always seem to be in pretty rough shape after festival goers use and abuse them for three days. Well, that’s all about to change.
According to The Tennessean, Bonnaroo and their new partners, Live Nation, broke ground on permanent bathrooms, showers, and water refill stations that will be ready this year. The festival’s co-founder, Rick Farman, tells the paper, “We want Bonnaroo to be the most inclusive it can be … And this is one of those things that we think helps send the right message about that.”

The festival organizers are also working on improving the grounds’ irrigation system. If anyone remembers Governor’s Ball 2013, you’ll understand why that’s important.
Live Nation, owner of Ticketmaster, purchased a controlling stake in the festival in 2015. Organizers also hinted that B’roo might not be the only event on the Manchester, Tennessee, farm in the future.
Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival returns June 9–12, but you’ll have to wait until January 19 to see the full lineup.
