Idea Behind the Inception of Capella
As the Cosmos ecosystem and its IBC-based chains continue to grow, there has been a noticeable gap in the infrastructure necessary to support the future of GameFi and NFTs. Developer activity is strong, but a dedicated NFT marketplace or game has yet to make a splash.
The Problem with Current Cosmos-based NFT Marketplaces
Existing Cosmos-based NFT marketplaces have a crucial limitation: they do not support semi-fungible tokens (SFTs). SFTs are essential for gaming, as they enable the creation of duplicates of the same resources. For instance, imagine 1000 identical swords, each representing an “NFT,” with no differences between them. These SFTs can be listed, sold, and resold by their respective owners, much like traditional NFTs. Unfortunately, current marketplaces only strictly support NFTs, which hinders the usability and sellability of gaming assets.
Capella: The Solution for Crypto Games
Capella addresses this issue by offering a marketplace that efficiently supports both NFTs and SFTs, enhancing the utility of Web3 games. Bluzelle’s decentralized storage solution, Bluzelle R2, enables developers to securely store game assets without the fear of loss.
IBC compatibility allows users to log in to Capella with any IBC-enabled account on any Cosmos chain (such as Osmosis), enabling the buying and selling of tokens on the Bluzelle platform. Developers can seamlessly integrate Capella within their games for all storage and token requirements, without needing to transfer NFTs to another chain. This streamlined process significantly improves both the developer and gamer experience.
