Tackling systemic data problems with blockchain technology

The current centralized internet is not capable to scale to handle exponentially growing data securely. countless data breaches have shown in recent times, there’s a desperate need to introduce a new infrastructure like blockchain and to redefine ownership of private data. Whilst a platform like Facebook may lead an individual to believe that they retain control over their own data, there’s nothing by way of proof to suggest that, once a user chooses to delete a give n piece of information, that it isn’t stored indefinitely by the company.

Let’s Treat Our Data As A Currency

Today’s digital economy is characterised by the generation and commodification of one key intangible asset — data. Every day 2.5 quintillion bytes of data is created, but people and companies still don’t quite realise how valuable a source of income it could become. By applying decentralization principles from blockchain to data, it will create new business models and applications that give control to individuals. Data wallets, like a crypto wallet, can determine who has access to data and help us to better manage and monetize our personal data.

Bluzelle Tackles Blockchain Data Storage Problems

Recently, Pavel was interviewed by Tony Zerucha from NXT Alpha. He talked about why data storage will become a bottleneck for blockchain to scale and how a decentralized database is needed. He also talked about Bluzelle’s value proposition: 1) is to provide efficient data storage while maintaining effectiveness at scale 2) is helping people and organizations monetize that data.

Lack of User Privacy Threatens Security Defenses

This article written by Pam Baker talks about three main issues in data threats — individuals sharing too much information, data breaches and corporations selling increasingly granular customer data. “It’s fallacious to call a platform ‘secure’ if, in the same breath, it willingly participates in the selling of its users’ data to third parties. This phenomenon has caused quite a stir in the media as of late, and rightfully so.” — A quote from Pavel.
