Diary of a Wimpy Kid- Long Haul
Author: Jeff Kinney
Language: English
Verdict: Good

If you ask me what kind of books I like, top of my list will be children and young-adult literatures. Whenever I get to know about any good or average series I pick them up and finish them. However, from the day I became a mom, somewhere in my psyche a switch happened. Now when I pick up a children’s book (or even I watch a kid’s movie) I see them with “mom’s eyes”; I scrutinize them to determine if the book (or movie) in question will be suitable for my kid to read! Diary of wimpy kid is a series that falls into the grey area. I do like to read them but I am not sure if I will let my child read this when time comes. Then again Huck Finn was a not good influence as well.
If you are not familiar with Greg, the wimpy kid, then let me give a brief introduction. Greg is a young boy. He has his parents and older brother Rodrick and younger brother Manny. His best and only friend is Rowley. Greg is lazy and does not always choose a fair route in his life, but at the end he always comes around. I would have never liked Greg, if I knew him personally. Then again I do keep reading his stories.
But you know what this particular book is a bit different, it is about a family road trip and for a change Greg did not cause much mayhem other than forgetting about the key of a locker. However that was just one of the many events of a very eventful journey. It was a good read and liked Long Haul the most among all of the Wimpy Kid I have read so far. And who does not like a good old fashion “eventful” road trip.
