It’s a pleasure to read a book about the transformative power of faith. It’s even more of a pleasure when the author is from my own writing community.

I bought Born Again in a Biker Bar because Charisse Tyson is a writer on Medium, and because her book had a catchy title and a smattering of good reviews. But I didn’t expect it to be as inspiring as it was.

You don’t have to be religious, and you don’t have to be an alcoholic or suffering through a bad relationship to appreciate the author’s raw honesty and her determination as she fights to save her marriage.

The relationship goes from blissful to hopeless in a downhill slide that turns romance into misery. The author’s husband does not want to give up drinking, but wants, instead, to get out of the marriage.
