Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan — A Book Review
An unusual bookstore with an eccentric owner hunts for the answer to an ancient riddle. A nefarious cult protects a secret code. And a young man paired with a modern-day Nancy Drew and their team of crusaders embarks on a quest to unravel it all.
Author Robin Sloan has written an old-school caper, and it’s wonderful. Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore was recommended by Medium author, former bookstore owner, and admitted bibliophile Paul Combs. After reading his book review, I promptly put it on my wish list, squirreled away a few bucks for the order then delivered it to my door.
Despite Comb’s having already reviewed this book on Medium, I enjoyed the novel so much that I feel compelled to give this adventure mystery the exposure it deserves. Thanks, Paul, for the recommendation!
