The Salt Path Journey consists of a group of writers with whom I’m honored to collaborate.

We are reading and writing about this memoir, part by part. It’s the same book. We read each separate part simultaneously. Yet as each of us write, we focus on the theme that hits home with us the most to offer you varied insights from the book.

Each article is complete within itself, but if this is your first one, here’s a brief background summary of the previous parts of the book.

In Part One: Into the Light, we learned of the doctor’s diagnosis of Moth being terminally ill, combined with their losing their house and farm, making them homeless. Raynor makes the impulsive decision to walk the South West Coast Path in England.

In Part Two: The South West Coast Path, we learned this homeless couple continue walking, meeting other people along the way who react negatively to them because of the stigma of homelessness, making them hesitant to reveal that information again.

Their journey, along with our journey with this inspirational book, now continues in Part Three: The Long Fetch.
