Hindi is an inherent virtue in every Indian. It’s more than a language to me, it lends me voice, and sooths me when I dredge myself in its peculiar poetry expression. After losing contact with Hindi literature after school, I got to revive its old-days-like charm through a gamut of new and modern Hindi poets. So, recently, I came across “Man Ki Parchhai” by Punit Mishra. A Hindi poetry title, heavy and light — it offers the reflection of pain, plight and pleasure through the astute wording of someone who is familiar with the language through a family lineage. In this post I am going to count some of the USPs of the book.

(1)

A Wonderful Hindi Poetry Title:

Man Ki Parchhai is a captivating experience from its title to content. The book first introduces you to the hardcore and Sanskritized Hindi, but if you deduce the exact meaning, it offers a pleasing sense to overall existence. The second part of the book is lighter version; it’s more into Urdu ghazals and nazms. However, written in Hindi, the book holds its inclination towards the national language. I found the book highly readable.

It Reflects and Cogitates on Our Inner Self:

Absolutely the book is closer to soul and heart. It carries soul-healing expressions and outpourings. As started the book, I came across many expressions of the poet that he wrote seemingly not happy with the world working. He rather introspects and counts his innocent encounters and what changed him. The world is becoming grim and going through the dark phase, where everyone is involved in the hate justification, no one talks about peace and nature. In such troubled times, Man Ki Parchhai takes us to the light that we need to see to appreciate ourselves.

Hopeful for Introverts:

I personally gathered that the poet is an introvert person. Thus, the poems are great match for introvert people — they will love it and extract the purpose for their lives from the rich tapestry of words.

(4)

Mixed Yet Balanced:

The title ‘Man Ki Parchhai’ epitomizes something to do with our consciousness and unheard voice of heart. The poems are capable of influencing our thinking pattern and tenacity towards the approach of life. Punit’s poems are sublime, beautiful, and soul stirring. If the first part is heavy on nerves, he balances it with the second section that is uplifting and juicy to its essence. Despite all, the collection is good and favourable to its readers.
