Arjuna is Awake

Because of opportunistic people,

The sky changes its colour.

Behind the clouds,

There are rumours of nation-selling.

The generation moves forward on the

Purple path.

They take the form of Arjuna,

Growing angry.

The mind-horse stirred,

Lifted in both hands,

The rudder of the

Nation boat.

About the Poet:

Deepak Kumar Kalita is a well-known children litterateur of Assam. His children fiction “Maramare Bandhu (Pyare Dosth)” has been published by National Bok Trust, India. The book has been translated into Hindi, English, and 13 other regional languages. Mr. Kalita has written six novels in Assamese. A teacher by profession, Mr Kalita has been serving society as an actor, director, playwright, and poet for last 33 years.

His children story ‘Bhotor Logot Arati’ and children drama ‘Ajak Rongin Pokhiila’ has been published by Sahitya Academy. His latest published book is the biography of India’s late renowned singer, Lata Mangeskar.
