Renuka’s short stories collection book — a Collection of 6 Fictional Stories — is a heartfelt book with closely tied social themes in it. Mostly stories are based on homely ambience that either break or make women and their relationships with the family members, children, and life partner. Silent domestic abuse is a standout feature of the book. In the book “Her Crimson Faded” is a highlighted story about a couple: Viji and Sumesh. The husband carries out at first silent atrocities against his wife Viji, who has brought every possible dowry in the home. The pride and arrogance of the man doesn’t stop until she is dead. This story is way relevant today for the people supporting silent oppression on women for no valid reasons.

The book surely brings readers on an emotional journey. The stories depict the character’s mettle and ability to overcome challenges and meet life’s obstacles head on with hope and bravery amidst the changing circumstances in relationships. Themes explored around mother’s contribution to a child’s care are extremely touching and heartfelt. Those stories hit on the emotional chords.

The power of friendship and the deep relationships people make throughout their lives are profoundly explored in the collection. Through these stories, the author let us explore themes of resilience, compassion, friendship, and motherhood, womanhood and so on.

Most of the stories are centered on women’s struggle to fit best in the family and society…in a true sense the book voices a sense of encouragement to women of our society. For them the book is significant and effective with solid narration as its core element. Portrayal of women characterization is subtle yet deep in its own charm.

This is an engaging and skillfully written book that will fascinate readers with an interest in the Indian society and the place of women there.

The book is available to buy from Amazon.
