The title ‘The Book of Stamps’ is attention grabbing. It stirs a sense of interest in the readers who are moved by the wording of the title. Earlier I thought it a work of short stories; I thought there will be visual of stamps against each story. Well, it takes us into a different uncharted territory, where you could see the storyteller transporting in the world of her characters and regions. On fantasy lines, Vidya Math brings forward a delectable book for all of us.

The cover image of the book is an abstract fantasy art of four young characters. The girl Othelia is with her friend Harry. Above it, you could resonate with the Prince Thallon and that Dancing Girl from the village Melthon. It could have been captivating if Hunters were shown tidbit.

The story is set up in the wonderland of Zohor. The land is cursed by the attack of Hunters that were once friends of the young Prince Thallon. Animals are being killed for fun. People are concerned and looking for help from the old King. Like in every story, the people look up to a hero who will save them from this curse. There comes the character of Thallon, who lits up the light of hope and life in the people’s life by battling with Hunterss.

As the story is a short read with a limited number of characters and characterization is with good backdrop stories.

Possibly what you I like:

1. The mysterious plotline

2. The subplots in the main story

3. The mystery elements

4. Though a very short story, the plot runs at a good pace.

5. The naming convention of the characters reminds foreign author’s fantasy works

Final Note:

All the characters are well scripted with an ample amount of strength and weakness. An engaging narration is found in the book. Easy language with good vocabulary is observed in the story.

My Final Verdict: An interesting fantasy story.
