As a writer you’ve got it easy (and rough). Getting started is easy. There’s zero barrier to become a writer. There’s no gatekeeper (unless you allow it), and you can literally start any time, anywhere.

The problem for writers begins in the income department. Since the barrier is so low there’s near-unlimited competition. We’ve got to stand out, no matter our niche.

And once we earn a new reader we need to hold on to that reader as tight as possible.

Most creators take the easy route in the ‘reader retention’ department. They depend on their social media platforms to keep readers aware of their work.

You’re not most writers, so insead, we’ll use a better way. The backdoor way. The old-timey, boring way…

Instead, we’ll build you an email list.

When you’ve got an email list you have a direct connection to the people you serve. You have just as much right to your customer’s in-box as the biggest names in business.

And once you have a new reader on your email list, you can use that direct connection to contact them frequently, so they never forget that you are here to help.
