The new writer myth about Medium views. I see new income stories written daily and many of them have a common flaw, so I figured it was important to set the record straight for new writers.

Views have nothing to do with how much your Medium story will earn.

The only thing that matters on Medium, is reads.

You need between 150–200 reads to earn $10 a day.

Views come from all over. If your story shows up on Google and the reader is not a Medium subscriber, you get a view, but not a read. If a user scrolls past your story on the homepage but doesn’t read it, you get a view.
