This is a tale of woe and intrigue. In one fist we’ve got a writer who wanted nothing but to write. In the other — a writer who knew the stakes and took control of her destiny.

Both writers were excellent in their craft.

The writer who didn’t self-promote, struggled. No matter how many books she wrote, the royalties barely paid the mortgage. The second writer published less-often and flourished.

Was this luck or design?

You’d rather write than tell people about your writing.

As with all great businesses, we indies own the entire process, from soup to acorns. If all we do is write, with no readers on the other end to receive our work, then what we’ll get, is an empty theater.

Email is the writer’s answer.
