Before I start, I’d first like to state that this is my view on the difference between The Booking Factory and Freetobook.

As the co-founder of The booking Factory, I may be a little biased in my opinions, but let’s look into the differences between the two services.

First: What’s the same or similar?

We both communicate with Online Travel Agents, and sell rooms directly. However we have a fully functional PMS and website builder.

Mission

The Booking Factory’s number one goal is to help hotels and B&B’s sell directly to the consumer and avoid the Online Travel Agent commissions of 15 to 20%.

Free To Book is aiming for something similar, here is the quote from their website “More direct bookings from your website. Stop losing commission, you keep every penny from your online bookings.”

Contract

We both offer no contract.

So what exactly is the difference then?

History

Free To Book had been around for quite a few years. Their web product works well and they have many hundreds of users.

The Booking Factory, however, is brand new. It was started by one hotelier who felt like it was time to change how hoteliers should be working against Online Travel Agencies. Being new means our product uses the newest technologies.

Pricing

Free To Book’s pricing is tailored to each hotel or B&B, so the price depends on what services you are looking for so you have to choose what tariff suits you best. They have free option if all you need is a booking engine!

With The Booking Factory, we don’t have a freemium model. Everything is included in our monthly price without any extra setup costs.

Reports

Free To Book has an extensive report generator.

What The Booking Factory does is focus on more visual reports and metrics to show the data instead of listing of data in a table. This makes it easier for hoteliers to see their statistics and find insights into their business.

Online Demo

Free To Book will offer to demo their software to you with their sales person.

With The Booking Factory, we let you sign up for your own account and have a play around first, so you can get to know our software. If you like what you see, we can arrange a sales demo and give you full training.

Set up fee

Free To Book charges set up fee (For Channel Connections) and an annual fee (For Mobile Website, Mobile booking engine, Stripe connection), while

The Booking Factory is free to set up and we will connect you to the channels without cost.

Payment Gateway

We both offer a payment gateway services to multiple vendors.

Hotel Website

Free To Book offers a mobile website with extra fees, The Booking Factory on the other hand includes professional hotel website with many templates.

There is no need for you to pay more to get a hotel website, both for desktop and mobile.

So, you’re probably either using Free To Book already, or thinking about joining. You should try The Booking Factory with a free account first, so you can see how easy and modern it is to use. There’s no commitment, so you have nothing to lose.
