Between Fortunate and Predicament

I search the nights for dementors, only to wake up to tormentors

I realized life can be anything

Life is sweet, right?
Only if you are Fortunate, away from her other half.

Fortunate is easygoing, but her other face is Predicament. One doesn’t stay far away from the other. They don’t interact even when they live together. Fortunate is sweet, innocent and loves attention while her reflection— Predicament — is bitter, dangerous and an attention murderer. She plays dirty and allies with chaos to exit any scene with a smug look on her face, leaving you to condemnation. As an assailant, her hungry thirst for victims makes her a gruesome villain. Everyone has a share of her, fair or brutal.

Fortunate is rare, lucky and doesn’t need inconsistency. Everyone desires her, but she is very picky with her choices. Her alliance with grace makes a lifetime bright summer. Dishes prepared by her are never served cold because her charms are lifesaving.

Predicament and Fortunate are everyday, everywhere and every time in our spaces. I have seen them on the streets, screaming their price tag. They both can be bought and exchanged at any junction of life. Courageous is the decision, and mightier is the habit. Living consciously clears a pathway for Fortunate but when unmindful, her other face — Predicament, shows up.

I write fiction, poetry, and personal development and also share my thoughts on a couple of social issues. If you found this engaging, leave a clap, also read my other stories and follow so as not to miss out on future stories.
