Cheaters prosper
Sometimes, easy things are the most worthwhile
Good hearts get broken
Heroes die deaths of indignity

Part of being a child is harboring imagination, dreams, and a sense of the impossible being possible. Age and experience slowly dismantle that harbor, sail by sail and board by board. Being a well-functioning adult means accepting this dismantling, but simultaneously creating a safe mental and emotional space for that childhood harbor. Without that, we can become lost on an unnavigable ocean of sadness and yearning.

It helps me personally, to realize through words, that the world is an oftentimes unforgiving and punishing place. Vocalizing those bitter truths through writing allows me to vent much of that sadness and yearning, helping me to concentrate better on the handholds of my life.

Regardless of what works for you, I hope you have found it and if not, wish you persistence in your search.
