A concept of love
designed and defined by others for others
should be denied,
rejected

A world so bereft of meaningful human contact
of joyful tears and gentle touches
deserves better
deserves more honesty
a parade against Abrahamic norms
and their prehistoric values

A double-sided coin
One proper, rule-abiding, respectable, cold
Another, scratched, used, warm, inviting
You, both sides
Forbidden by propriety
A construct fueled by passion and curiosity

That rainy day so many years ago
Your profile outlined
Almond-shaped eyes, sensual lips
Fine jawline, royal cheekbones

Snared by a net you didn’t throw
Don’t release me

-American writer

In life, I constantly meet people who captivate me without explicit intention. Does this ever happen to you? Do you ever find yourself hopelessly enthralled by someone in spite of being in a dedicated, enjoyable, and functioning relationship? There is nothing wrong in this, but many would have you believe otherwise. In a world where true friendship, care, and love are hard to find, make sure you take the opportunity to show affection when you can. :)
