Here
Where are you looking? Where are you now? What do you seek?
this is where I am,
I had not always known,
for often I sought
somewhere else to be
this is where I see,
I had not always looked,
for often I focused
elsewhere to discern
this is where I feel,
I had not always embraced,
even if I had before —
assuming I knew how there felt
this is where I listen,
I had not always heard,
or as others described
how now must sound
when I am here, I know,
when I see here, I look,
when I feel here, I embrace,
when I listen here, I understand,
I experience now,
accepting as I am,
and open
my hands saying —
here

Take a moment to step into the image, and let your feelings run freely. Then open your heart to breathe in the words. Gently swirl together, savoring while listening for whispers from nature.

Artist’s notes
photograph — taken in Glencoe, Scotland early one morning after snowfall the previous night. It is not the classic photo for this area and this mountain. It is my moment of zen, for I was here.
poem — many photographers seek out ‘trophy’ images of famous locations. They will hire other photographers or participate in “workshops” to get to these images. They will be told where to stand, how to compose their image, what the “proper” camera settings, etc. All they have to do is push the button. But do they really capture the essence of the moment? Are they really there? Is this a moment of creativity or art?
Whispers From Natures — nature inspired poetic writings intertwined with outdoor photography.
