‘Love the giver more than the gift’ ~ Brigham Young

Love the giver more than the gift,
It’s the thought that counts after all.
Possessions come and possessions go,
But a true friend will stay through it all.

Don’t cherish all things superficial,
Love the giver more than the gift.
Someone who cares and is thinking of you,
Both your heart and your spirits should lift.

Whatever may happen tomorrow,
Over that you have no control.
Love the giver more than the gift,
And you’ll always escape vitriol.

Be thankful for all those who love you,
Don’t let your alliances shift.
Never feel envious of what others have,
Love the giver more than the gift.
