In stillness there is awareness

has the ebb left
or does the flow return,
I am not fazed which way tide goes

has the breeze stalled
or do the leaves rustle,
I am not rattled which way wind blows

does the boat rock
or does the land sway,
I am not disturbed which one shifts

does the mind swirl
or does the world churn,
I am not worried which reality exists

awareness,
no thoughts in my mind —
I inhale

stillness,
one breath at a time —
I exhale
