Suddenly, I heard a bird singing —
a sound so beautiful,

so vivid and full of joy,
that it stopped me in my tracks.

The bird’s song brought a happiness
that buzzed in my chest

and burst throughout my body.
I felt like dancing and laughing out loud.

I had to get outside! I had to be with people
who felt the same cheer!
