What is the Boyce Bailey Adventure?
On October 1st, 2016, I married the most beautiful human alive.
It is now a little over a week later and the photo below (taken while on our mini-moon) is exactly how I feel about my bride and the exciting adventures we get to share together.

The adrenaline and other positive chemical reactions are still pumping through my veins saying that marriage is a constant feeling of bliss. Yet, I also have a realist voice tapping me on the shoulder, whispering to me sweet nothings like “this marriage thing is going to be a lot of really hard work!”. Our married friends, family and people we respect all second that realist voice and note very forcefully that marriage is not easy.
In order to listen to these various voices as well as avoid being ignorant to the fact that marriage is a walk in the park, I thought it would be a fun experiment to capture Sabrina (my wife) and I’s thoughts, excitements, fears and ideas as they relate to our marriage and relationship with one another. While platforms such as Medium may come and go, the hope is that we can preserve our conversations in a coherent, digital manner.
Ideally, this will become a living conversation that we could one day pass to our grandchildren when they hopefully ask, “what advise would you give to a couple just starting out on their marriage journey?”
Right now, the goal is to just have conversations with each other but I am excited to see this project evolve with our relationship and personalities over time.
Lastly, the one thing I do know about marriage so far is that communication is the foundation to a strong relationship, so I will end with, “Sabrina, what else would you like to add?”
