[1] What’s a new technique or topic you’d like to try writing about?

I have a whole brain-full of foodie-type stories to write but just haven’t got around to it. From my childhood days and my mother’s fabulous baking to food traditions and travel memories. We can learn a lot about a culture, a person — life, just from food.

[2] What are your top three values in life? Why are they your main values?

Interestingly, I had to answer this question a few years ago when I started my Bachelors in Vocational Education. The top three values that guide me and define me have not changed:

  1. Communication; I firmly believe that good communication skills are essential in both my personal and professional life. Whether it is through the written word or orally, the ability to express oneself openly, honestly and thoughtfully is key to developing relationships and establishing understanding, compassion and accountability. It also includes listening — we often forget to hear what others are saying before formulating an opinion or jumping to conclusions.
