Can a Playful Assassin, a Fired Psychologist, and a Bleak Mirror Lead Me Back to Stillness (and Maybe Myself)?
On Killing Eve, Cringe Feelings, and the Curious Journey from TV Thrills to Therapeutic Mindfulness
Feel free to ~listen to this post as well!
I started watching Killing Eve, finally. It’s a show featuring Sandra Oh and (goes to search up actor) Jodie Comer. I know Sandra Oh best from Grey’s Anatomy, and this is an introduction to Jodie Comer’s acting.
And oh boy, things are intense right from the start with such great acting! Jodie’s facial expressions are amazing, particularly as she portrays this playful but traumatized but devillish assassin who hasn’t been caught. Sandra Oh plays an MI5 agent who is then fired because she called a manager some variation of “dickwad” that I had never heard of before, but then recruited again for her intense interest in learning about women serial killers (based on her prior training as a social psychologist).
I wonder if that’s a route I should have gone, with this PhD in psychology. Did you know that I had a PhD in psychology? A tangent.
I’m thoroughly enjoying this show because I’m realizing that for a long time I could not find a show that filled my void…
