It was sitting on the kitchen table: negative. A relief. No, it was not a pregnancy test. Have you noticed that they look the same? After my son brought home the at-home test for Covid-19 and I administered it, I was like, “Hmm, that looks so familiar…” It is one more example of misogynistic gaslighting during the pandemic. My perspective on this article: Gendered trauma falls even harder on transgender and non-binary people with uteruses. Sure, the majority of those taking pregnancy tests identify as women, but if we are going to interrogate and tear down the Patriarchy, we need to include all who are silenced by it.
