I can’t stop you from
wilfully misunderstanding
what my words mean

and then
using that misunderstanding
to then make assumptions about
everyone else who is part of a group
that I am part of,

but I would at the very least
like to ask if you could
pause and rethink that,

because I’d like to hope,
and I like to believe in you
that you are not inherently
trying to be malicious,

and that sometimes
the way things are set up
make us behave and be in this way.
