I Waited
A Poem
Through the bedroom window
Clouds gather like a gray blanket
Who knew that the dark color we see
Could give rise to droplets of colorless liquid
I pull on my comforter and cozy myself on the sofa
Preparing for the lullaby
To be swept off into the land of dreams
Or A ride through endless memories
An emotional roller coaster
Although bittersweet
The rain can bring forth
A period of cleansing
Each drop is a musical note
To an unnamed song
Waiting to be released
Within every drop, there is a story
Within every drop lie the words of poetry
I wait and wait
No rain comes
Only gloominess awaits
Within a few hours, the sun shines again
I guess I’ll be waiting till night to get some sleep
A nap during the rain would have been the perfect treat
