Impossible to Throw Away
Poetry Prompt: Greeting Cards
Piles of greeting cards,
Colours fading away slowly,
Dust cover memories.
When I read Lucy The Eggcademic (she/her)’ s poem about greeting cards, my mind immediately ran to the huge collection of cards I have back home. The pile keeps increasing each year from the cards I get, as well as the cards that people can no longer provide a home for. I simply can’t throw them away! They bring back memories (mixed with the slight whiff of dust and decay). It’s a beautiful sight when they come out of the cupboard to decorate the home each Christmas.
Tagging: Vijini Mallawaarachchi (who has sent me so many beautiful cards ❤) | Dr. Preeti Singh | Tima Loku | Samangi Wadinambi Arachchi | Madhushikag | Agnes Louis if you’re up to it and anyone else interested in today’s prompt: Greeting Cards.
