Intention

A universal plea

Uncertain are these times
Individuals overwhelmed
And struggling families
The virus is still rampant
Few hospital beds available
Congregations virtually meet
Travels taking backseat
Wear a mask when outside
Stay home if possible

So — Setting the intention
for the universe
To help and to remind
Go that extra mile
Choosing Hope and Kindness
In actions and our thoughts
For Snow is on the ground
Santa is surely on zoom calls
Making holiday plans.

Thank you, Lucy The Eggcademic (she/her), for the prompt: holiday & winter intentions. My intention this holiday season is to take a break from the routine and experiment with something new — nothing monumental — perhaps just mixing up the order of things, trying a few new restaurants(take out only!), exchanging masked smiles with my neighbors and helping out with holiday gift-giving at our local boys and girls club. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Also, now that the much-awaited COVID-19 vaccine is here — Have you been wondering where the phrase “shot in the arm” originated — Melissa Gouty has the answers :
