Introducing Shortform (燒賣s) to The Brain is a Noodle! Throughout this journey of creating a publication that connects with others, I’ve found that one format that’s really worked is to keep everything bite-sized.

While poetry is served up like a well-spun, intricately decorated bowl of piping hot noodles, shortform pieces that are all the rage now on Medium are like shumai (燒賣s) to me: the classic dim sum. They’re just like shortforms: portable, one-bite, baring all without being hidden behind.

I want to make space for the fun shortforms, those shower thoughts you have like “what if I peeled a lemon” experience in <150 words.
