Swimming
A poem about living creatively

it’s time to go for a swim
in the ocean of inspiration
diving deep to fetch
pearls of wisdom and
marveling at the strange and
wonderful creatures that inhabit
the depths
to gaze down from the surface
you only see the outlines of
things fantastical and
otherworldly, shadows of
possibilities not yet fully formed
beneath the surface there are
colors unfathomable and
hidden life everywhere,
currents swaying to the tune of
tidal rhythms,
vast blue-green depths filled with
treasures unknown
it only takes the courage to
dive in and open your eyes
to what you may find —
